Takallam vs ElevenLabs Agents

ElevenLabs makes the best-sounding synthetic voices available, and Agents puts real developer tooling around them. Takallam is not that product and does not try to be. It is the support operation: four channels, one inbox, human takeover, tickets, a knowledge base and workflows. Here is where each one fits.

Fair start

What ElevenLabs Agents is genuinely good at

On voice itself, ElevenLabs sets the bar. Takallam is not competing on raw synthesis quality, and any comparison page that pretends otherwise is selling you something.

  • Voice quality and expressiveness are best in class — intonation, pacing and emotional range that most systems do not come close to.
  • Language and voice coverage is very broad, with a large library and voice cloning, which matters if you serve many markets at once.
  • Developer tooling is strong: a clean API, SDKs, low-latency streaming and real control over the agent loop.
  • If what your team actually needs is a voice API to build on top of, buy a voice API. That is a good decision, and Takallam is the wrong purchase for it.
The honest difference

Voice infrastructure, or a customer-support operation

ElevenLabs Agents gives you the pieces to build a voice agent. Takallam gives you the thing support teams actually run their day inside. The gap is not sound quality — it is everything that has to exist around a conversation once real customers are in it.

  • There is no support inbox. Your team needs somewhere to see conversations across channels, and that has to come from somewhere else.
  • There is no human-takeover workflow in the same thread — escalation means handing the caller off, not a colleague continuing the conversation with the transcript in front of them.
  • There are no tickets and no SLAs, so anything that needs an owner and a due time lives in another tool.
  • A website-crawled knowledge base is not offered as a managed product, and there is no QR channel, no email channel and no bundled chat on one platform and one bill.

Included

What a support operation needs that a voice API does not provide

None of this is a criticism of ElevenLabs. It is simply a different layer of the stack. If you build on a voice API, you will build or buy each of these anyway.

One inbox, human takeover

QR voice, chat, email and phone land in the same queue. When the AI is not enough, a person continues in the same thread with the transcript and the escalation reason already there.

Inside the console

Tickets and SLAs

An owner, a due time and an escalation path for the things that need tracking, in the same product as the conversation that created them.

Knowledge base from your website

Takallam crawls your site, lists every page it read, and lets you remove anything it should not use. Add PDFs, or connect a system like a PMS or an order database.

Scan-to-speak QR

A printed code the customer scans and talks to. No app, no number, no queue — and it can switch to text mid-conversation without losing the thread.

Workflow builder

What happens after the conversation: summarise the call, check whether a booking changed, update the PMS, text the guest. Dragged into place, with a run history.

Support analytics

What customers ask, what the AI resolved, what got escalated and why — reported for a support manager rather than as raw API logs.

Channels

Four channels, one agent, one bill

With voice infrastructure, the phone is what you get and the rest is your integration work. With Takallam a single agent answers on a QR scan, in your app or website chat, in your support inbox, and on a real phone number — sharing one knowledge base and one record of the customer, so a guest who called last night is not a stranger this morning.

  • Scan-to-speak QR does not exist in ElevenLabs Agents, or in any other product we are aware of.
  • QR voice, chat, email and phone are the same agent, not four integrations kept in sync by hand.
  • One vendor and one bill instead of a voice API plus a helpdesk plus an automation tool.

Knowledge

A knowledge base you can see and correct

Both products can be given knowledge. The difference is that in Takallam it is a managed part of the platform rather than something you assemble: it crawls your website during setup, shows you every page and document it learned from, and stays editable by whoever runs support — not only by whoever holds the API key.

  • Built during onboarding from your own domain, before you write a line of anything.
  • Every source listed, with the ability to remove a page that should not be used.
  • One edit updates the answer on the QR code, the chat widget, the email replies and the phone line at once.
  • Upload documents or connect a system such as a PMS or an order database.

Which one

Pick the layer you actually need

Choose ElevenLabs Agents if

You have engineers, you want to build the experience yourself, and voice quality is the thing you will be judged on — a media product, a character, an assistant embedded in software you already own. If you need dozens of languages or cloned voices, that is their ground, not ours. A voice API is the right purchase for a voice API problem.

Choose Takallam if

You are running customer support, not building voice software. You want the QR code, the chat widget, the support inbox and the phone line answered by one agent, with an inbox your team works in, tickets, workflows and analytics included — and you need Emirati and Gulf dialect handled properly, with data resident in the UAE.

How Takallam handles Arabic
Questions

What people actually ask about this comparison

Does Takallam sound as good as ElevenLabs?

ElevenLabs is the leader in voice synthesis and we are not claiming to beat them at it. Takallam is judged on whether a customer gets the right answer, in their own dialect, on the channel they used — and on what your team can do when the AI is not enough. Raw synthesis quality is not where Takallam competes.

Could we just build a support platform on top of ElevenLabs Agents?

Yes, and some teams should. You would be building the inbox, the human-takeover flow, the ticketing and SLA layer, the knowledge-base management, the analytics and the workflow engine — plus a chat channel, an email channel and anything QR-based. That is a product, not an integration. Takallam exists so that support teams do not have to build it.

Does ElevenLabs Agents have a knowledge base?

You can attach knowledge to an agent, which is why the comparison table says partial rather than no. What it does not offer as a managed product is a crawl of your whole website at setup, a reviewable list of every source, and edits that propagate across channels. Check their current documentation, because this area changes quickly.

What about human handover?

ElevenLabs Agents can transfer a call to a human on another number, which handles the phone case. Takallam keeps it inside one conversation: the AI flags low confidence or a request it is not allowed to fulfil, and your agent replies in the same thread with the transcript and reason in front of them, on voice, chat or email.

Which one is better for Arabic?

ElevenLabs supports a very wide range of languages, including Arabic, and its voice quality there is excellent. Takallam is built for Emirati and wider Gulf dialect specifically, in both voice and text, including customers who switch between Arabic and English mid-sentence — and it keeps data in the UAE region by default. Different kinds of coverage, so test both against your own callers.

Does Takallam have an API too?

Yes. Every action in the console is an endpoint — create agents, push knowledge, start conversations, subscribe to signed webhooks — plus an embed for the web and SDKs for iOS and Android. It is an API under a finished product rather than an API you assemble a product from.

What does Takallam cost?

You pay per interaction, priced separately for each channel, because a phone call and a chat message do not cost the same to deliver. No per-seat licences and no minimum commitment. Takallam is pre-launch, so exact rates are being set with the first cohort — join the waitlist with your real volume and we will quote against it.

When should we not choose Takallam?

If your requirement is a voice API — you are building your own product experience, or you need voice cloning and a long tail of languages — choose ElevenLabs and do not let a comparison page talk you out of it. Takallam is for teams whose requirement is a customer-support operation, delivered whole.
